Welcome to Athena Herd CIC: A natural place to learn

Investing in yourself emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially, will allow you to become the best version of yourself

Wanting a more tranquil and peaceful lifestyle, Jennifer Geach together with her family went on a search to find what they would soon call home in May 2014.

They now live surrounded by their horses, alpacas, dogs and other animals, wildlife and the beautiful natural Kentish landscape in West Kent, near to Paddock Wood.  The quest to live in harmony with nature is how Jennifer and Brent started to learn about providing horses with an environment that better supports optimum physical and mental health, inspired by, amongst others, Jamie Jackson's book "Paddock Paradise: A Guide to Natural Horse Boarding".   This journey led to what is today Athena Herd CIC a not for profit Community Interest Company, home to a sizeable barefoot herd of horses living on more than just an equine track system.

Athena Herd CIC sits on a vast 17 acre stretch of land which Jennifer and Brent have developed into a perfect location not just for their family and animals but where individuals or groups might collectively retreat to.  Our ethos genuinely stems from the want of maximising health and wellbeing, a place to take that leap of faith and invest in yourself to find that authentic best version of yourself, with or without horses, a unique and authentic interactive space for humans and animals in nature.

In 2019 Athena Herd CIC became an Organisational Member and Jennifer Geach a Senior Member of ACCPH: Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists.   The combination of living in harmony with nature and looking to care for the herd of horses in as natural an environment as possible provides a very authentic setting for the best possible Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL for short) and development training and experience.  Currently the Athena Herd team can deliver ACCPH Accredited Level 4 Diploma: Equine Facilitated Practitioner qualifications as well as various events and learning experiences in line with their vast amount of individual expertise.

Athena Herd is a place that people can retreat to and stay on site whether that be in the Farmhouse, Tree House or Bell Tents.
