Qualification levels

In support of our work Athena Herd is an organisational member of various professional bodies.

ACCPH: Athena Herd CIC is an Organisational Member of ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists). This means our Equine Facilitated Practitioner courses are accredited.  As a consequence, our training and courses are of the highest standard and closely follow the level benchmarks set by OFQUAL, the Open & Distance Learning Quality Council or similar bodies.

BACP: Athena Herd CIC is an Organisational Member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). This demonstrates that Athena Herd CIC is committed to providing safe, ethical and professional counselling and psychotherapy services and training.

Athena Herd CIC Qualification Levels

In developing our qualifications with the support of ACCPH (as above) we ensure a recognised and robust foundation to all of our work. To quote their site: "In setting its minimum Standards of Training for each level ACCPH accepts it is demanding a great deal from its training providers. As stated elsewhere on this website we are paralleling Ofqual criteria as closely as possible. However; we seek to adopt a flexible approach and take into account the huge range approaches within counselling, coaching, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. There are other professional bodies that set standards for their area of therapy or coaching and we have to take these into consideration."

Athena Herd CIC offers ACCPH accredited level 2 (certification) and level 4 (diploma) qualifications. The levels are aligned to UK education standards and represent significantly different levels of individual commitment. The level 2 certificate provides foundation skills for those interested in this type of work. It forms the first core module of the Diploma programme. All diploma students will complete the certificate.

THESE DEFINITIONS ONLY APPLY TO THE PROGRAMMES DESIGNED AND DELIVERED DIRECTLY BY ATHENA HERD CIC.

To find out more detail around the framework of these qualifications please visit the "Standards of Training and Education" page on the ACCPH page.
